Welcome to the Police Beat. I am the evening cops reporter, Tom Geyer. I and my day shift counterpart, Ann McGlynn, will be blogging and interacting with you on the latest issues facing the community and police.

Lately, the face of Pachino Hill has been pasted all over the media. Also, Ramzan Ahmad, the owner of the Iowa Street Mart who got caught buying stolen cigarettes and alcohol in a well-conceived sting by Davenport Police, has people wondering if behavior of this type is common at other convenience stores.

Those are just a couple of examples. I’m sure you as readers and citizens have much more to talk about. Of course, anyone who has a news tip is welcome to share it. We follow up on all such tips.
